Recap of the Smith meetup
At the Timberline Bike Park on Mt. Hood, Oregon.
We were honored to be invited by Smith to Timberline's new bike park and to stay at the famous Silcox Hut to test out some of their new Smith 2024 mountain bike product.
The Silcox Hut, a historic cabin built in 1939 as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps, was named after Ferdinand L. Silcox—who served as Forest Service Chief 1933-1939 and signed an executive order creating the CCC.
The hut, which is located at an elevation of 7,000 feet on Mt. Hood and used to house the upper bullwheel for the Magic Mile ski lift—the first alpine chairlift in North America.
Smith was enthusiastic about introducing new colors and designs to their line-up, as well as announcing a new downhill helmet that would be released in 2025.
